Worm infection in India is a leading cause of anemia in young children. It affects their physical growth,
causes lower resistance to infection and contribute to malnutrition. To tackle this problem, National
Deworming Day (NDD) was observed at AKSIPS-125 Smart School, Greater Mohali in co-ordination with
Health Services Family Welfare Punjab Administration. The children from class 1 onwards were
provided with a single dose of deworming tablet, Albendazole with the consent of the parents. T
This was a big step by the school to increase the immunity of the children by providing the medicine.
